For designing the pirate costumes you will need clothes. The types of cloth that you will need are shirts, pants, skirts and vest.
You will have to get a button-up white long sleeved shirt. It should not be too informal or formal kind of a shirt. It should be a baggy kind of a shirt and it should look good to keep a few buttons open.
You can try and stain the shirt a little bit as the pirates would have had. The pirates were not the cleanest of the people so their dresses do have stains. You can even tear the shirt a little bit in some part. If possible try to locate shirt with the ruffles on the cuffs and the collar in the Victorian style.

Pants should be black in color. Next color options would be brown or grey. The pants can be little tight and should snug to your skin. You can also get baggy pants that you need to cut off in a zigzag way from the length below your knee. They should look worn out and old.
Get skirts of black, grey or brown color. The skirts can be long or short. For choosing long skirts you can choose a peasant type of a skirt. For short skirts, its better to get a knee length skirt which can be cut and torn up with a scissor. Make it look old and tattered.
Get a red or black vest. There should not be any design on it. It might be a striped one and that might suit the overall design of the pirate dress. If the colors mentioned are not available then go for the white vest. Take it and then dye it in red or black color. The red and black dye color is available in all the craft stores. Even if you have not used the dye before it is very easy to do. You will not need any experience for doing it.

Now you need to focus on the accessories. They are very important in the overall sexy look of the pirate costume. Get boots, hat or bandanna, earrings and jewelery, belt or sash and sword.
Get tall black boots. Tall brown color boots are also good for the costume. Wear a pirate style hat and wear the bandanna on the head under the hat. Put some braids on if you have a long hair. Get a wide belt with bigger knuckles. The color of the belt should be either black or brown. The color of the belt should go with the costume.
You can also wear a sash which should ideally be red in color. Black sash will also look good. You can also try a red scarf around your waist instead of a sash. Tie the belt or the sash on the outside of the shirt.

For pierced ears you can try gold hoop earrings. Try to wear flashy jewels and ornaments that will look great with the pirate costume.
